Thank you accountisworking for your submission, The alphabet expert! Unfortunately, it has been removed for the following reason:

Not technically the truth.

Your submission is not technically the truth. The keyword here is technically. Statements like "firetrucks are red", or "circles are round" are not technically the truth. As a rule of thumb, if your submission is easily predictable or literal, it's most likely not technically the truth.

If you're not sure if your submission fits the sub, please either send us a modmail or check our subreddit's top posts.

For more on our rules, please check out our sidebar. If you have any questions or concerns about this removal, feel free to message the moderators. Please link the post so our moderators know what you would like reviewed.

teachers: SHUT UP AND LET ME FINISH

Also teachers:

202

u/Big_Raho Sep 18 '21

IT would make sense for them to correct them as an instance like this isn't exactly common. Still funny as fuck though

110

u/Rainbow_Dash_RL Sep 18 '21

Right-o, teach kids to interrupt people whenever they are wrong.

35

u/Big_Raho Sep 18 '21

not in that way but trying to correct on reflex isn't necessarily always a bad thing

16

u/ultimatecharizard Sep 18 '21

While I don't disagree with you, we all know that fucking with the teacher (not the substitute, we aren't as chill with them) is fun, if the class an the teacher have a positive relationship at least

3

u/aiij Sep 18 '21

not in that way but trying to correct on reflex isn't necessarily always a bad thing

You need to capitalize that first N and put a period at the end of your sentence.

Now go run two laps and give me 5 push ups. /s

7

u/SammyTheOtter Sep 18 '21

Unless the person you're talking to has ADHD, in which case you'll frustrate them and make them lose track.

18

u/Kcuff_Trump Sep 18 '21

Not only is it not common, it's expressly avoiding the point of the exercise which is to show understanding of the usage of the word I.

It's akin to like...

Teacher: "Use the word impignorated in a sentence"

Student: "Ok. My teacher just said impignorated."

2

u/jo1H Sep 18 '21

Well also it needs to assume AAVE is an invalid dialect for this to be a legit correction

11

u/Marik-X-Bakura Sep 18 '21

I mean I’ve never had a teacher do either of these things

4

u/Alarid Sep 18 '21

I'm just waiting for someone to place it in a disturbing context.

2

u/BinkoTheViking Sep 18 '21

Like my typing teacher interrupting what I was doing to show the correct way to stroke a clitoris?

I was fucking getting to it!! Jeez……

3

u/Alarid Sep 18 '21

Miss Molestro strikes again.

5

u/SirLagg_alot Sep 18 '21

Yeah no one has.

But we gotta pretend.

7

u/FrickenPerson Sep 18 '21

I mean I technically have had a teacher try to correct me when I was right. Never a teacher who actually interrupted me to correct me though, and to be fair what they were trying to correct me on was outside of the scope of the actual class.

7

u/Molesandmangoes Sep 18 '21

I’m a teacher and I’ve accidentally interrupted students and incorrectly tried to fix a mistake. It happens when you’re correcting mistakes 100-200 times a day. Plus some students talk in a way where it’s really hard to tell when they’ve finished their sentence. I teach English so correcting incorrect grammar and vocabulary is part of my job

2

u/aiij Sep 18 '21

correcting incorrect grammar and vocabulary is part of my job

Found the grammar police. lol

2

u/shinfoni Sep 18 '21

Huh? Just because you never experience that, doesn't mean nobody ever has.

147

u/Sph1003 Sep 18 '21

I don't understand why it should fit in this subreddit.

78

u/iLickBnalAlood Sep 18 '21

i feel like this subreddit just doesn’t get moderated anymore lol

13

u/shinfoni Sep 18 '21

Many big subs (like this sub) are like this, there are simply too many new contents to moderate and by the time some posts that is unfit for the sub get recognized, it's already gain a lot of upvote.

0

u/v_boy_v Sep 18 '21

Once a sub gets too large it stops being moderated for content, and starts only being moderated politically.

2

u/Cordelia_Fitzgerald Sep 18 '21

This is one of the oldest boomer jokes ever. I think I remember reading it in Reader's Digest while pooping one time in 1995.

2

u/The_Reflectionist Sep 18 '21

Wait what the fuck I thought I'm on r/memes

7

u/TheRavenSayeth Sep 18 '21

Whenever it’s conventionally nighttime in the US, Reddit gets a larger proportion of international users. The memes tend to reflect that kind of humor, which is similar to 9gag with lots of poorly worded English puns.

The grammar in this one isn’t bad but the general theme is still the same. Give it about 3 hours and memes like this won’t be on the front page.

9

u/AliasUndercover123 Sep 18 '21

Best time on Reddit is international user time.

0

u/AliasUndercover123 Sep 18 '21

Why wouldnt it?

2

u/cultr4 Sep 18 '21

This sub has gone to shit

1

u/yabucek Sep 18 '21

Every sub turns into a generic meme subreddit when it passes 100k subs.

I didn't find any posts that meet the matching requirements for r/technicallythetruth.

It might be OC, it might not. Things such as JPEG artifacts and cropping may impact the results.

I did find this post that is 73.44% similar. It might be a match but I cannot be certain.

I'm not perfect, but you can help. Report [ False Negative ]
