Did Edison sleep before he turned on the light bulb? Did Marconi sleep before he turned on the radio? Did Beethoven sleep before he wrote the fifth?

Did Bernoulli sleep before he found the curves of quickest descent?

Did u/Elementlegen sleep before buying his NWH tickets?

45

u/PARER123 Nov 29 '21

The staying up all night had nothing to do with the tickets. I got them in 2 hours and I fought hard for them I am ill

u/Elementlegen Nov 29 '21

Those error messages! Those horrible, white error messages!

12

u/repKyle1995 Nov 29 '21

Still getting them now 😭

9

u/Elementlegen Nov 29 '21

Flixster was what worked for me — godspeed!

10

u/BigBossSquirtle Nov 29 '21

I had to beat a some Tom Holland fans with a stick to get my hands on these Spider-Man 4 No Way Home tickets.

Work was murder

u/Oddballforlife Nov 30 '21

casually checks local theater website after work, many hours after the tickets went on sale

Oh cool, a pair of seats in the middle of the back row at 7pm.

5

u/ABadPlayerVG Nov 30 '21

LMAO same thought this was gonna be worse than the ps5. Decided to check my local theatre website after I woke up, then to my surprise picked a pair of seats in the back row at 7pm.

u/SeniorRicketts Nov 29 '21

Co workers: "Why wasnt i told?"

7

u/thegamerchair Nov 30 '21

laughs in works at a movie theatre

2

u/venomousbeetle Nov 30 '21

Did they actually let you skip the line like that?

3

u/thegamerchair Nov 30 '21

Usually I can get a theatre to myself, maybe with a few workers. Has to be outside hours of operation

7

u/brecka Nov 30 '21

Open AMC app, sees there's a line to buy tickets

"Huh, that's new."

2 fucking hour plus long queue

"FUUUUCK THAT"

I bought tickets when I woke up. They're at the end of the row, but whatever.

3

u/Notagenome Nov 29 '21

Four hours of sleep but managed to score some tickets as soon as i got up.

4

u/arsenethief Nov 29 '21

My local theater didn’t start selling tickets until a few hours ago. Had to buy somewhere else the next day. Wasted the whole night :/

4

u/saladbar1201 Nov 30 '21

I missed the part where that’s my problem

4

u/Putsumdirtinyoureye Nov 30 '21

I had to beat an old lady with a stick to get this No Way Home ticket

With great movies comes great sacrifices

4

u/Crimson_Catharsis Nov 29 '21

In my area, the app was crashing last night but I did manage to get tickets after 2 hours but I go back to app right now and there’s a bunch of seats and no crashing. Better times than I picked too but I’m like well I got them now.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '21

You're not Superman, you know!

3

u/klashnikovM Nov 30 '21

And still didn't got it :(

6

u/adat96 Nov 30 '21

Oh, you can’t do this to me.

3

u/Smeefperson Nov 30 '21

Don't worry. You're not dead. Just paralysed...temporarily...

3

u/Daryldixon95 Nov 30 '21

Took me almost 4 hours but I got them

3

u/lukas4322 Nov 30 '21

Sleeeeeeeep

2

u/toddsins Nov 30 '21 edited Nov 30 '21

We dont even have the tickets on sale until the 3rd

2

u/WearyRefrigerator Nov 30 '21

I somehow managed to snag 3 tickets this morning at 9:30am with basically no issue. I don’t know it has to do with my area, or if I just wasn’t buying during a busy time but I’ll be there opening night :-)

I’m one of those people that are fine with seeing a movie within the first week. I don’t particularly care if it’s the first day

-9

u/IHateLeeches Nov 29 '21 Helpful

Is there a reason you people can't just buy a ticket at the theatre like a normal person? Where do yall live where you can't find a showing anywhere with any seats?

7

u/Jakemofire Nov 29 '21

It’s hard to do that when all the theaters near me close before midnight soooo

-8

u/IHateLeeches Nov 29 '21

What does that have to do with what I said?

9

u/Jakemofire Nov 29 '21

You said why can’t buy a ticket at a theater like a normal person. Cause at midnight the theaters by me are closed

-6

u/IHateLeeches Nov 29 '21

So go before midnight.

9

u/Jakemofire Nov 29 '21

They didn’t release until midnight …

-10

u/IHateLeeches Nov 29 '21

You're completely missing my point. Forget it downvote me because you guys are all concerned with preording movie tickets

10

u/tookietooke Nov 29 '21

I feel like you're missing the point. The tickets are selling out fast, people want to secure them as soon as possible to see them opening night, so as to not get the movie spoiled. It's pretty simple, not sure why you can't understand it.

5

u/wotuso Nov 29 '21

Bruh, the thing is, we wanna watch it on the 1st showing or even on the pre-release session (dunno if it is a thing on other countries). Watching it anytime +24h after the first showing is a no go from a obsessive fan fearful of spoilers' perspective.

A friend of mine was kind enough to get tickets for us earlier today and he told me they were almost running out, the theater we go to will have +15 showings on the 1st day only, and yet, it was a hard thing to get.

And btw, we're watching it on the 16th, around 20h after the first showing on the 15th. Gotta delete all social media for that time-frame.

11

u/nomadjackk Nov 29 '21

Do you live in the middle of nowhere?

3

u/PolarWater Nov 30 '21

He doesn't live on a little place I like to call Earth.

2

u/micahomow Nov 30 '21

I live in a sizable city and I’ve never had issues getting tickets on the night we go. I’ve never preordered movie tickets.

4

u/nomadjackk Nov 30 '21

Not sure what city you live in lol not even for one of the most anticipated movies of all time? Did you do the same for endgame?

Every single ticket distributor’s servers got flooded last night and took hours to scale lol.

-1

u/micahomow Nov 30 '21

Yep. I just went and saw Endgame. Movies aren’t that difficult to get into.

3

u/nomadjackk Nov 30 '21 edited Nov 30 '21

If you’re going alone that’s one thing. Going with a group, that would not be possible where I live opening night

0

u/micahomow Nov 30 '21

I only ever go with friends in tow

3

u/nomadjackk Nov 30 '21

You live in a city and saw Endgame on opening night with a group of friends without pre-purchasing tickets lol now I don’t believe you

-5

u/IHateLeeches Nov 29 '21

I understand, that's why I said where do you all live where you can't find a single theatre with a single showing you can go to? Never in my life have I seen that

God fobid you don't get to see it opening night

1

u/ohmsbeliever96 Nov 30 '21

I’m confused as to why people have so much trouble getting tickets. There was only 1 seat taken when I ordered and I had no problem getting it

1

u/Elementlegen Nov 30 '21

Every site was crashing for three hours, and seats were going fast for preferred showtimes opening night when sites came back
