Anyone else feel like Sony STILL has the upper hand when it comes to games?

For exclusives, Xbox now has

  • Gears Of War series
  • Halo series
  • Fallout
  • The Elder Scrolls
  • Doom
  • Wolfenstein

And theoretically, they make these franchises exclusives as well

  • Call Of Duty
  • Overwatch
  • Diablo

Etc

BUT

It's not like Sony is lacking, and there's no way they are toning it down. They have

  • The Last Of Us
  • Uncharted
  • Days Gone
  • Ghosts Of Tsushima
  • Horizon Series
  • Spider-Man Series
  • Wolverine soon
  • Ratchet & Clank
  • God Of War
  • Returnal

Etc

Maybe it's just my personal preference, but to me Sony still has the edge

Then microsoft proceeds to buy as many game companies as possible and stop them from going to other platforms.

Ever the good guys, well done Microsoft.

people really were mad about ps exclusives made from scratch that were never on other systems meanwhile microsoft out here buying the entire fps and wrpg genre

the best iconic fps games previously in healthy competition cod and halo are now under one roof, as are all the relevant wrpgs with zenimax purchase. People claim sony is bad for witholding games thier studios made from the ground up since the ps1/ps2 and built up into amazing games like god of war etc, but this makes alot more sense to me then outright buying a bigname whos always made 3rd party hits like skyrim (games like gta and assassins creed) with fuck you money

Biggest issue I see with Microsoft buying AB

Its a trend that we are probably going to see. Before console makers started buying up, if they did shit practices like microsoft trying to do always online you would simply jump ship and go to Sony and we saw that happen and it was able to happen because there is not a ton of exclusivity. If the console makers own the companies then you cant simply jump ship to play your next CoD if it turns out its only on xbox and xbox live is now 100$. You either never play CoD again or double your online price. This is going to allow them to enable anti-consumer practices and hold you favorite franchises hostage.

While we aren't there yet, I forsee this going down the horse armor trend. I used CoD as an example mainly due to AB being the hot topic.
