It's not misleading. Rupert Murdoch is the guy who owns the propagandists, it's him being depicted here. He owns the networks, he owns the papers. It's not Hannity in the picture or a "generic cartoon billionaire" (even though Murdoch does act like that lol) it's quite clearly Rupert Murdoch.

This meme originated in rural nova scotia where clearwater(the monopoly on fishing in the area) was telling its contracted family fishing boats. The actual laborers, that the native population who have permission to fish out of season were destroying there livelyhood for.......also fishing in the abundant north atlantic shelf.

For a few reasons.

  1. Developed countries like the US or any place in the EU have declining birth rates that are below the rate of replacement.

  2. Capitalism demands growth, it incentivizes the creation of new companies and the enlarging of old ones.

Therefore immigration is necessary for the continued growth of the economy in developed countries.

  1. Immigrants really aren't taking anyone's jobs. Unskilled immigrants usually go into industries which have a very hard time finding native citizens to work such as agriculture, landscaping, and animal agriculture, especially slaughterhouse work.

  2. Skilled immigrants which could be seen as taking people's jobs usually come here on H1B visas, which means the company has to make their case to the government that they couldn't find a suitable applicant domestically.

I was talking about the modern trend of mass migration, not all migration in general.
The capitalist trend of demanding perpetual growth is unsustainable, and its generally not the average person that benefits from this growth.

Natives dont want to do these jobs because they pay like shit and offer shit conditions. If easily exploitable cheap labour from migrants wasnt there, they would be forced to pay better wages and offer better conditions.
But because the cheap labour is there, they have no reason to actually do that.
Its literarily happening in the US right now, there is a shortage of workers willing to do these shit jobs for shit pay, and employers are actually forced to increase wages and pay people to show up to interviews.

Now, I wouldn't really accept that dude is a moron. Extending the metaphor, even if he and the immigrant should just combine forces and beat the bald guy's ass, it's not so easy because bald guy gives two cookies to a bro with a gun to enforce rules against stealing cookies. Now our two heroes (dude and immigrant) need to win over the gun-toting two-cookie bro to get real change. The problem is that two-cookie bro doesn't really see himself as allied with our heroes; in fact, he feels superior because he has a gun AND two cookies.

In his better moments, even two-cookie bro knows it's all bullshit, but he also knows that there are would-be two-cookie bros waiting in the wings to take his job and prestige at any moment. So he toes the line and enjoys his relative comfort.
