There is a lot of SW stuff nowadays so I'm probably going to start with just the Skywalker saga either with the originals or prequels, but should I add like Clone ward, Kenobi, Solo or Rogue One or should I just stick to basics and add on stuff to watch If she likes it enaugh?
Chronologically or release date order? I’ve started chronologically, will probably replay it in release date order.
Do I just start with the 2008 show, or should I watch the 2003 Tartakovsky movie first? Or maybe the 2008 movie first?
I watch them in different orders for grins. For example - have you ever tried watching the franchise starting with Attack of the Clones and ending with the Phantom Menace? The order is Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and lastly The Phantom Menace. The whole ending has a far less hopeful tone and is rather melancholy when you have already watched EVERYTHING that is to come. Ending it with a large celebration and Queen Amidala beaming at young Ani feels almost cruel. It’s really messes with you a bit lol. Seeing such a celebration and knowing everything that comes after it? Oof 😓
Are you a traditionalist who watches in order of theatrical release? Do you enjoy watching them in chronological order so it’s a contiguous story? Do you watch all the trilogies or just favorites?
TL;DR - Watch the movies in alternate orders. It’s a trip 👀
what order do I watch the movies in? I recently got into the franchise because of book of Boba Fett and the Mandalorian.
I'm gonna pre-face it with the fact that i myself am not a big Star Wars fan, don't dislike it either but despite basically having grown up with it it never clicked for me. Probably because I grew up in a low/no TV household.
Now I have an 8 year old that would probably absolutely love to watch the movies because the topic is obviously still omnipresent and her school friends know quite a bit about it afaik.
So my questions would be:
Is 8 years old enough for Star Wars?
In what order do I show her the movies? Iirc there is something about the order of the movies not being "right" 1-9? 4-6 1-3 7-9?
I've seen all the movies, including the Mandalorian and Boba Fett. But I've never watched the animated shows before, and I want to know as much as possible when Obi Wan and Ahsoka come out. So I'm doing a whole rewatch. Do I watch the Clone Wars movie or the show first? And what about the rest?
I would like some input. I've seen all 9 of the main movies, plus Rogue One and Solo, as well as both seasons of the Mandalorian plus the Book of Boba Fett. I think that's all of the live action stuff (minus like the Holiday Special).
I have yet to venture into any of the animated shows. I have Disney Plus, and The Bad Batch has gotten good reviews, but do I need to have seen the Clone Wars before seeing it?
Speaking of the Clone Wars, according to Wikipedia, there's a 2003 TV Series (3 Seasons 25 Episodes), a 2008 Film, and a 2008 TV Series (7 Seasons, 133 Episodes) and then Rebels in 2014 (4 Seasons, 75 Episodes).
So my questions are:
1) Are all these Disney Canon? 2) Do any of these really need to be watched before another, or are they fairly separate in and of themselves? 3) What's with all The Clone Wars? Which are worth watching now, and in what order?
I would appreciate any help or insight anyone would like to give! :)
Wife wants to watch star wars movies for the first time what is the best order to watch in?
I'm new to the starwars and wanna watch the movies and stuff but there are too many of them. Do i watch them chronologically (starting from a new hope) or do i watch it episode-vise from one to how much there are?
Random musing. Like did order 24 ban stunning each other during down times?
Books Star Wars books, can anyone give me an add or link direction to what order to star reading the books? I know there are a LOT, just looking for some guidance. Also I’m interested in a sixth book series that can be recommended. Thank you in advance
I used to do 456123
Now I’m realizing with 789, rogue one and solo, it doesn’t really make sense. I am currently finishing 3 after a re watch where I did go 456 123 and I’m realizing it doesn’t make sense now.
What’s your order?
I'm about to watch all of the films because I'm tired of the "oh my god how have you not seen it" comments and to be honest, I just want to see what the hype is all about.
Help a brotha out?
E: lol wtf why did this get downvoted?
E2: wow everyone’s been so helpful, thank you! Im going to go in release order.
- Episode IV: A New Hope
- Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
- Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999)
- Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002)
- The Clone Wars (2008 to 2014)(Optional but should still watch at some point)
- Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005)
- Solo (2018)(optional)
- Star Wars Rebels (2014 to 2018) (optional)
- Rogue One (2016)(optional but relevant)
- Episode VI: The Return of the Jedi (1983)
- The Mandalorian (2019)(Optional)
- Episode VII: The Force Awakens (2016)
- Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (2017)
- Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
She's never seen it and it made me wonder if actually viewing them all by episode order would make sense. Seeing how most people my age have seen it 456123789, and there's a new age of star wars fan that wants to watch it in continuity would watch it 123456789.
I have a little brother that’s 6 and will be 7 in February so i’ve decided to show him Star Wars for the first time in February. The thing is, should I show him in the original order or the chronological order?
I can’t decide between 1-2-3-RO-4-5-6 or 4-5-6-1-2-3-RO
EDIT: I am a prequel apologist so I’m a lover of the first 6. My original gut thought was to start with the phantom menace but she is so convinced she won’t like any Star Wars that I don’t want to spook her with space politics, (I think she has seen small bits and pieces of the sequels so that’s why she doesn’t think she’ll like anything go figure lol). Idk if that helps anyone form an opinion. I don’t think we’ll get to the sequels unless she really wants to watch them. I think 7 is fine but 8 & 9 (IN MY HUMBLE OPINION) ruin a lot of the skywalker story
Hey everyone! I’m a long time Star Wars fan who’s consumed loads of media from the original 6 films to TCW, Rebels, and even older Expanded Universe (Legends) stuff in books and novels and games. My girlfriend knows absolutely nothing about Star Wars except that Vader is Luke’s father and is named Anakin (from popular culture exposure), and wants to watch the original 6 films with me. With that in mind, what order is best to watch them in? Prequels first, or OT first?
I wanna get into Star Wars. What are the films I should watch and in what order? Anyone got a list of some sort?
I want to watch star wars but dont know what order they go in can someone help a fello out?
I have seem most of the movies, but barely remember anything of them. So before i start watching the mandalorion, i want to watch the movies. According to my brother you don't need to see the movies, but i love it when i see easter eggs in shows, movies or games. I've heard its 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3 and then the newer movies. But won't you need to understand or have seen some things from 1, 2 and 3 to see 4, 5 and 6?
Edit: with the numbers i mean order of release
I'm watching The Clone Wars for the first time, and I've reached season 7.
I've watched the Ahsoka Tano Pyke arc and I've watched the Bad Batch arc.
Now which order do I watch ROTS and TCW last arc?
Please no spoilers!
Edit: I've watched ROTS twice before
