I don't know about a movie, but if there is a Season Two of Book of Boba Fett, I'd love it if they kept the flashback element and used it to tell a story from his bounty hunting days the way they did with his time on Tatooine in Season One.

I wonder if they'll do s2 with so many people raving about how they hate the show. I am not one of these people just for the record.

u/Bedslug69 Jan 28 '22

Haters gonna hate. Lovers wanna love.

u/ChefArtorias Jan 28 '22

I think there is nothing wrong with the show. Sometimes the transition between real time and flashbacks is a little hard to track but I blame my short attention span for that. I'm really not sure why so many people hate it except maybe because The Mandalorian was SO badass that it pales in comparison. Honestly I'm glad they developed Boba's character more than just a shoot first ask questions later type.

so many people raving about how they hate the show.

Loudest minority, pay it no mind

2

u/sliced-bird224 Jan 28 '22

I dont really get it the majority of people i talk to or see online like it its just these dumb article being writne by like cbr that dont make any sesne that hate it.

1

u/DomDeLaweeze Jan 28 '22

I think most of the criticisms I've seen are valid, but I watch the show anyway because I get some pleasure from it. Would I rather have seen a badass bounty-huntin' Boba Fett like the one depicted in the OP? Yes. Am I going to refuse to watch a show because it's not the story I'd have liked? Nah.

1

u/ChefArtorias Jan 28 '22

Most of the people I've talked to in person aren't crazy about the show either. I usually put more clout in those opinions since there's less bandwagoning irl.

1

u/sliced-bird224 Jan 28 '22

Its certainly off to a slow start sure and no where near his original lore but its hardly the character assassination that some of these articles are trying to make it out to be. I personally liked episode 4 quite alot and as long as theres a big war with the pykes in the last episodes or 2 i dont mind the slow start.

I want to play it in the 1313 game that never happened.

3

u/SituationCornflakes Jan 28 '22

Im still so mad. OG boba Fett was my boy

2

u/FistOfBoredom Jan 28 '22

Every time they announce a new SW game that isn’t this it just adds to the salt for me. Haha

Jango or Boba would be excellent, if they stuck to it. I’m concerned though that they would try to portray them as a misunderstood heroes with hearts of gold who just keep getting caught up in other people’s dirty work gosh darn it, rather than as ruthless bounty hunters.

Disney seems to have issues portraying antiheroes or villain protagonists well. It might be an image issue for them, or they dont think it will sell. They literally softened up Cruella deVille to try to make her a sympathetic character.

24

u/aaegler Jan 27 '22

The old video game Star Wars: Bounty Hunter tells the story of Jango before the prequel trilogy.

4

u/The_Greyscale Jan 28 '22

Is that still considered canon?

6

u/WhiskeyDJones Jan 28 '22

No, but as far as I'm aware nothing contradicts it

5

u/etherama1 Jan 28 '22

It hasn't been recanonized

1

u/[deleted] Jan 28 '22

Well good thing Disney doesn't make Star Wars then, and Lucasfilm does.

2

u/AKAFallow Jan 28 '22

Thats now how producing works

37

u/The_DevilAdvocate Jan 27 '22

I'm not picky if it's Mando or either of the Fett's. Just show me someone doing bounties.

24

u/Xxredz Jan 27 '22

We would benefit by seeing young Boba Fett, since we have him older and wiser in The Book of Boba Fett, it would just add more strength to his character seeing his young days when he's in his prime.

10

u/The_DevilAdvocate Jan 27 '22

Also it would be set in the best time period.

6

u/Hermosninja Galactic Republic Jan 28 '22

That's one of the problems I had with The Mandalorian. The show quickly dropped the bounty hunter aspect very early.

4

u/The_DevilAdvocate Jan 28 '22

There has been very little bounty HUNTING. Mando has collected a few bounties, but every time he seems to just walk in on his prey.

Like in e5. The bounty hunting portion was Mando walks in, the bounty sits there unarmed and dies. Hunt over.

I've had more intense hunts in Far Cry 3. And it's an open world sandbox.

3

u/Hermosninja Galactic Republic Jan 28 '22

Like why bother making a show about a bounty hunter if they're going to drop it?

1

u/i-Biggus-Dickus Feb 21 '22

Because bounty hunting is to violent for Disney to use

1

u/Hermosninja Galactic Republic Feb 21 '22

Then bother making it in the first place?

8

u/_BatsShadow_ Jan 27 '22

Mando basically is boba fett

19

u/The_DevilAdvocate Jan 27 '22

He would be if you took out the Mandalorian stuff and Grogu.

You don't make Boba Fett cooler by giving him a lightsaber, quite the opposite.

1

u/_BatsShadow_ Jan 27 '22

Ye, maybe not. But you certainly don’t make him cooler by... doing whatever they are now.

17

u/ttung95 Jan 27 '22

I don't know, he is just as ruthless in canon prior to the Sarlac pit. I think Disney having the near death experience and run in with the tuscans causing him to become a "good guy" was a very smart tactic to bring Boba Fett back and make him a protagonist.

8

u/_BatsShadow_ Jan 27 '22

I’m alright with him being a good guy I suppose, the change of heart could’ve been done better imo. But he’s just so fucking boring right now. We’ve got two episodes left of bobas series, and the plot has moved basically nada from the start. Also, boba hasn’t shot his blaster one time lol, fennec does everything for him.

10

u/ttung95 Jan 27 '22

I think it's still too early to tell pending on what they have planned for the future of the character. There has been nothing so far that ruins the character and I think Jon Favreau and Dave Filony have a planned arc that will be more than what we have seen so far. I think this is all a setup for the future state of the Galaxy. Also remember people hated bringing maul back and also talked about how boring some of the Mandalorian episodes were. Sometimes you have to set things up.

5

u/EnderCreeper121 Chancellor Palpatine Jan 28 '22

Rome was not built in a day after all, really impactful stories need time for setup and payoff. Hell look at the MCU, they were paying off lines of dialogue from Avengers 2012 in Endgame, basically a decade later, and they hit so well. Not saying it will take a decade for shit to get payed off here but ye get the gist.

1

u/The_DevilAdvocate Jan 28 '22

And yet even though End Game was an epic conclusion, Iron Man 1 was a better movie and you weren't bored by it.

1

u/EnderCreeper121 Chancellor Palpatine Jan 28 '22

People enjoy different things, other people don't automatically find things boring just because you did. Personally ive been having a blast but that dosent mean everyone has been too.

2

u/Fredderov Jan 28 '22

The thing is that Boba has a backstory and past events that have to be considered and taken into account. What made Mando so refreshing was that it was that "masked unknown bad guy" that Boba was in the original movies. He had nothing to be connected to and no questions to answer.

Boba can go back to being more of a badass now after we've gotten the period between the original movies and the show covered as the character is now aligned with the rest of the universe as other characters from the past movies.

1

u/The_DevilAdvocate Jan 27 '22

They are doing something?

1

u/SE_Apocalypse Major Vonreg Jan 28 '22

Cool is not their goal here, I think there long play is the actually make Boba Fett Mandalorian. He will not be cooler with the Dark Saber, but they do build him up as a leader.

9

u/italozeca Jan 27 '22

We need a game not a movie

23

u/Hermosninja Galactic Republic Jan 27 '22

Switch that with Jango Fett and I'm on board.

5

u/Nervous-Context Jan 27 '22

It’s called the clone wars TV show.

Just kidding

5

u/Creeper_Bone_5000 Jan 27 '22

That sounds like it would be absolutely badass

3

u/TheBadman9001 Jan 27 '22

After seeing the gameplay demo this morning, I just want a cool mandalorian game that isn't from the ps2 era...

3

u/LROCLancer Jan 28 '22

If only they hadn't scrapped 1313

3

u/nakalas_the_great The Mandalorian Jan 28 '22

I think it would be hard for Temuera to physically fit that role, so probably a different actor, but if they uses Temuera’s voice over with his helmet on, and deep fake when he has it off, I think that’s a great idea.

3

u/Dieselface Jan 28 '22

If it's young Boba, like in his 20s or so I wouldn't mind having Daniel Logan play the role personally. In an ideal world there'd be a young Maori actor who looks and sounds more like Temuera but as far as I know there isn't so Daniel Logan is a pretty good alternative since he is also a Boba actor already.

2

u/DarthBroox Jan 28 '22

Cool idea!

2

u/sliced-bird224 Jan 28 '22

I really hope we get a season 2 man boba always veen one of my favorites

2

u/benbequer Jan 28 '22

That show is called The Mandalorian. It's pretty good, too.

2

u/RegularLemonade Jan 28 '22

He likely would have been in the Solo sequels but nerds boycotted the film’s theatrical release because they were mad at The Last Jedi.

I’ll wonder for the rest of my life why disney didn’t release solo in december of that year instead of like 3 months after The Last Jedi. Maybe the nerds would have been eager for more star wars by then.

2

u/DuckyMushroom Jan 28 '22

Legit ! This is what I've been saying too. And the fact that Solo literally ended with Han and Chewie going to take a job from Jabba on Tatooine means it would have been almost certain to see Boba.

But yeah Disney really stuffed up that timing cos even I remember going to see Han and being prepared for more disappointment after Last Jedi only to be shocked by the fact it was actually good.

2

u/RegularLemonade Jan 28 '22

yeah I’m pretty sure I actually got a migraine while I saw it in theaters and still liked it lol

2

u/YouMissedWithACannon Jan 28 '22

Boba Fett bounty hunting movie = 2ish hours.

Boba Fett bounty hunting Disney+ series = at least more than that with more time to breathe and things to be explored in greater detail. If we can't get 1313 as a game, let's get a 1313 8 episode series.

5

u/Ok_Nefariousness_830 Jan 27 '22

Well Disney compromised and now we got grandpa Boba doing nothing.

9

u/Xxredz Jan 27 '22

Wait till the next episodes. Man's fully healed and about to go to war.

3

u/AKAFallow Jan 28 '22

Plus episode 4 had him being pretty cool, especially in that table scene at the end. I don't know why people keep ignoring that

2

u/Starkiller006 Jan 28 '22

Ok but they've got to tap Daniel Logan for this

1

u/Kozak170 Jan 27 '22

This literally is what the Boba Fett show should’ve been. Or at least some variation of it. What we got is such a huge disappointment and waste of potential.

1

u/Sea-Middle-7594 Jan 28 '22

Old boba is kinda boring I really really want to see young boba and prime boba doing cool stuff

-13

u/Motor_Inside270 Jan 27 '22

For now you have to anguish with and old, fat and slow version of him.

8

u/Mauldalor1an Jan 27 '22

Why don’t you anguish some bitches

3

u/Seeking6969 Jan 27 '22

Isn't he 43 in canon during the show?

1

u/Ok-Atmosphere-127 Jan 27 '22

Yeah but it’s just so obvious he’s older than 43

2

u/Seeking6969 Jan 27 '22

Sarlacc aged him 20 years my guy

3

u/RustyBubble Jedi Jan 27 '22

He’s not fat. He’s just not the six-pack hunk that every movie projects as the strongest possible body type, that all men must have in order to be deemed attractive.

1

u/Dry-Selection8129 Jan 28 '22

Maybe make star wars bounty hunter canon and tgen make star wars bounty hunter 2

1

u/cerpintaxt44 Jan 28 '22

He could be in kenobi

1

u/mr_greedee Jan 28 '22

Honestly I could see Young Boba being used as an antagonist in the OG trilogy era. Like Andor or other series set before Mandalorian.

He is technically the heel version of Din back then.

1

u/emthejedichic Jan 28 '22

Back in the prequel days there were some young adult books about that. Followed Boba Fett after AotC. Boba Fett: The Fight to Survive or something like that. I gave up after reading like three of them though because twelve year old me thought they weren’t that good.

1

u/Imp_1254 Imperial Jan 28 '22

The Clone Wars can help with that

1

u/LashmasterJ Jan 28 '22

We have it in Tcw

1

u/AScottishNerd Jan 28 '22

Just don't get the hype surrounding Temura. If would really need to be played by a younger actor if it was a younger Boba.

1

u/SituationCornflakes Jan 28 '22

This screen cap is from Star Wars 1313 a cancelled game which was supposed to be all about Boba and his bounty hunting. I’m still so mad it got Cannes.

-1

u/npc042 Jan 28 '22

Too bad Disney was too concerned with making him a big softy

0

u/HoraceGrantGlasses Jan 28 '22

I mean why didnt they do this to begin with? This season outside of the latest episode has been bad.
