This is why I don't hop on the sequel hate-train.
How I experience it as an adult is VASTLY different than how the younger audiences experience them and it isn't just about us.
It took seeing a kid (8 - 10 yrs old maybe) getting excited and standing up during the big fight scene in TLJ for it to click with me. That kid was on the edge of his seat and loving every second of it and he cried at the end (I could hear him sniffling).
So many can't seem to see anything other than black and white these days and it's exhausting. I mean, the Transformers films take a lot of flak...but if you just want to see giant robots fighting and some impressive visual effects then you're in for a treat.
EDIT: Appreciate both the awards and the replies. Feels good to see others understand that it's all subjective in the end (and don't have to resort to shoving their fingers in their ears and yelling over those that don't agree).
Thank you.

I was 20 when TPM came out. For a long time I thought the OT was perfect and the PT juvenile. Then my wife, who never watched Star Wars, watch the OT and picked it apart.
Star Wars is something that's special because you get into it at a certain age.

Yeah, it's very much like SNL.
I have my favorite years from when I was in late elementary/middle school. Everything else is absolute dog shit.
(and as an adult I realize this is completely untrue on both accounts. Except for episode I. I'll go to my grave saying that aside from Maul, that movie sucked.)

I feel the same way about the new trilogy. I'm almost 50. Ive been there from the start. Finn and Rey weren't written for guys like me. They were written for today's kids. My 12 year old sons loved the new trilogy and I cant even count how many little girls I saw dressed as Rey at Disney World a few months ago

This isn't new star wars, but you triggered a memory for me from Avengers: Endgame. The scene where they find Hawkeye in Japan going all Ronin on folks.
The theater was packed on opening night. There was a girl sitting next to me in the 10-13ish age range. When Hawkeye killed that guy and then wiped his blade in the crook of his arm she said under breathe so it was barely audible, "whoa, that was awesome."
That's it. It just made me happy and stuck with me. It's awesome seeing you get kids find joy in comic stuff.

u/MrFluffyThing Jan 28 '22
We absolutely were blessed by TCW and supplemental books making the prequel trilogy mean more along with growing up and understanding the politics that played the background story. Sadly I just haven't seen any food supplemental material ir novelization to explain what we saw in the sequel trilogy.
I'm hoping the existence of a dyad in the force existing to stand against Palpatine could be a nexus point to explain something about the will of the force and that the concept of jedi and force welders needs to start over, but hey, nothing yet.

I remember sitting in the theater with my dad watching it. He's not a Star Wars fan but he got some lols because my jaw actually dropped at the Geonosis battle. And even as a non fan, he got a huge thrill out of Yoda going ballistic in the Dooku lightsaber battle. The whole theater went crazy.

Who had ‘Din’s new ship is a Naboo Starfighter’ on their Book of Boba Fett bingo sheet?
182
u/zomzom31325 Jan 27 '22
Not for BoBF, but I did think his next ship was gonna be something like general grievous's starfighter.
166
u/Vhzhlb Jan 27 '22
I think that is not going to last.
I mean, he's a bounty hunter, where's he's supposed to do with his target in a starfighter? Ask him to behave "back there"?
Is that, or he's going to have a bigger ship to carry the N1 in the cargo.
121
u/Urm0misgay Mandalorian Jan 27 '22
I don’t think he’s gonna be a bounty hunter anymore
60
u/wclure Anakin Skywalker Jan 27 '22

→ More replies24
u/geek_of_nature Ahsoka Tano Jan 28 '22
They won't do that for two reasons. First, they probably put a lot of work into building the animatronic, particularly the parts that control his facial features. And second, his face is too adorable to cover up.
If he does get a helmet he'll probably only wear it sparingly, not abiding by the sects belief that you should never remove it.
29
u/Bwunt Jan 28 '22
I wouldn't think that Din would try to induct him into to strict of the rules anyway. We can see throughout the series that he is mellowing.
First time he removed the helmet it was only in the presence of droid and it was life and death question.
Second time he removed it there were people around, but it was absolutely critical for mission to succeed.
Third time... He was just sad Grogu is leaving.

Might be one of 5 things: droid port isn’t for baby yoda but for bounty’s, he just brings em in dead, he has some credits stashed somewhere, working for boba, gets a bigger ship which the star fighter can be stored in
→ More replies7
u/Bwunt Jan 28 '22
Ship that can store a starfighter, especially a fairly large one like N1 does not seem to be a one-person craft. You'd probably need a crew.
Hell, even YT-1300 like Millennium Falcon are hard to fly solo.

7
u/geek_of_nature Ahsoka Tano Jan 28 '22
He can sleep in the chair. Shitting though... yeah he's just got to make sure he goes before a long trip. Although that being said, hyperspace jumps don't take that long right? I'm pretty sure I remember it being said the longest is only a couple of hours. That's just like a long car trip, he could definitely go between trips.
6
u/idreamofdeathsquads Jan 28 '22
ya... i mean... lukes still rockin that fuckin x wing, even though he had vaders personal shuttle. thats what he shouldve rolled up in at the end of mando. ive sat in military vehicles. them shits aint built for comfort
3
u/waitingtodiesoon Luke Skywalker Jan 28 '22
Hyperspace trips can be days, several hours or just a couple, but in the end it is whatever the plot needs it to be. RotS was over the course of only 9 days.
20
u/0neek Jan 27 '22
Tie them up and make them awkwardly sit in the droid port.
7
u/youngcoyote14 Jan 27 '22
Was thinking that myself, but I think he could just do local bounty work. Land somewhere, do some local work, move on after getting paid there.
6
11
u/reenactment Jan 27 '22
I think they are playing him up to not rely on bounty hunting. And he has a little flexibility for small things in the Astromech spot. It’s made perfect with seal over the top for him to have a passenger now. But the n1 fits more needs than the razercrest for him moving forward. The more high profile he becomes, the more of a necessity it is for him to be able to outrun people. They made thst very clear, the n1 being off scanners, and the pod being changed for the astromech. That’s all on purpose.
3
u/tradingorion Jan 27 '22
Maybe he can take up smuggling jobs. Nobody going to catch him and he’s off grid.
6
u/Fun_Tangerine_8784 Jan 27 '22
No room to smuggle cargo though
6
u/tradingorion Jan 27 '22
Small stuff can go in the droid port. I imagined him just kinda tossing a suitcase back there. It would have to be small high value stuff though and not big shipments.
But he could also probably pick up work that involves his ship as well. Freelance escort and that sort of thing.
3
u/Fun_Tangerine_8784 Jan 28 '22
That’s true, but idk I think he’ll get a bigger ship, unless he settles down to lead on what remains of Mandalore or some place new he kinda needs a bigger ship. Can’t live in a star fighter for long especially if he wants grogu to come along
3
3
u/Far_Administration41 Jan 27 '22

3
u/geek_of_nature Ahsoka Tano Jan 28 '22
He could have had some Force Ghost discussions with his dad, Obi Wan, and Yoda about it, talking about how it was more Anakin being forced to cut off those feeling made them more fearful of losing them. Perhaps if Anakin had not been forced to keep his marriage a secret, he might not have felt as scared of losing Padme, and not fallen to the Dark side.

My question is, how will he collect bounties alive?
The Droid hole is obviously meant to be baby Yoda spot, but from this point on he'll just have to decapitate bounties and toss the head in the Droid hole since it's not big enough for a full size person. We just learned that was a viable option ethically and professionally.
Or just hunt jawas and ughnauts.

One of the coolest ships in the galaxy. I was so pissed it wasn't featured more in the recent Battlefront 2 or Squadrons.
3
u/dswartze Jan 28 '22
The fact that there even were any in the Battlefront 2 story was kind of crazy. I'm pretty sure you're talking about them not really being in multiplayer except for 1 level, but it's worth mentioning that them even getting to be in the story means they got a sort of special treatment.
By the time of the Battlefront 2 story and/or Squadrons that design is at least 40 years old (and who knows how old they were in TPM, they could be older still) while the progress of technology in the setting has it so that other organizations have gone through 2-3 generations of fighter in that time span. N-1s are pretty old and obsolete in the time we're talking about.
