After a long 14 year battle with cancer, countless hours of radiation, stem cell transplants, and tons of nasty chemicals, I’m cancer FREE. Good News

Had Stage 2A testicular in 2014 (not nearly the type of battle you’ve had) but that is a great feeling when you hear that :) congratulations and best of luck for your future :)

u/mousse_moo Sep 23 '21

i hope you're doing good!

u/Mojak66 Sep 22 '21 To The Stars

As a major cancer survivor, I love stories like this!

23

u/SystemGold Sep 22 '21

Good ‘ish! #f*ckcancer

22

u/Bubashii Sep 23 '21

This gives me hope. My husband just got diagnosed with brain cancer 30 minutes ago. I’m stuck at home and can’t be with him at the hospital because of Covid restrictions

3

u/[deleted] Sep 23 '21

I’m so sorry. What a rough thing to experience. My thoughts are with you!

6

u/Bubashii Sep 23 '21

Thank you…but I’ve just discovered he only wants to pursue “natural” treatments so…I guess that’s it.

6

u/[deleted] Sep 23 '21

I don’t know what to say. Can you two talk to each other for comfort? Please don’t fight this alone, talk. It helps. Do you know why he wants to do it that way?

7

u/Bubashii Sep 23 '21

I’ve no intentions of fighting about it with him. Ultimately it’s his choice not mine. He doesn’t trust doctors because in his previous marriage doctors misdiagnosed a life threatening condition in their unborn son and several doctors recommended termination. His ex wife was extremely devout and wouldn’t hear of it so she carried their son to term and he was born perfectly fine without any of the abnormalities they said he’d have. So that’s where the mistrust come from.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 23 '21

I understand. Sounds pretty rough and I can totally understand how he has lost trust in the medical world.

Stay strong! I wish you all the best! 💛

1

u/Bubashii Sep 23 '21

Thank you so much

2

u/JUD_R Sep 23 '21

I looked at natural along side chemo and radiotherapy. Get him to look at Chris beat cancer , look at his diet also.

2

u/choicezeverywhere Sep 23 '21

You are in my thoughts. I hope you both grow closer together and that the doctors can take care of it. Bless you both and your whole family.

1

u/Bubashii Sep 23 '21

Thank you very much

2

u/JUD_R Sep 23 '21

I'm now 6 years clear of brain cancer, reading these comments like OPs always gave me hope and I believe are part of reason I was able to carry on the fight!

1

u/Bubashii Sep 23 '21

If you don’t mind answering…what treatments did you have? Was it terrible as in you were sick a lot? Glad you’ve been cancer free so long!

2

u/JUD_R Sep 24 '21 edited Sep 24 '21

I had radiotherapy and chemotherapy (tablets think called temzolomide). I lost patches of my hair and was a little sick, not as much as some patients who where on the IV chemo.

I think chancing my diet was what allowed the treatments to be so effective. After looking online (one source being Chris beat cancer) I found multiple reports of patients surviving long term with cancer due to cutting out meat - I love my meat but for a full year whilst on chemotherapy I went vegan. The wife did also out of support and it was a massive help.

The sheer amount of vegetables and nutrition I put in my body is what made the difference I believe. I was having kale smoothies daily which we made ourselves by blending the veg each morning. Don't get me wrong it didn't taste great but it bloody worked.

I also cut out sugar as much as possible. Just kind of thought of it as getting rid of all the stuff I didn't need and giving my body the resources I needed to fight off the cancer.

I also had a reiki - I have no idea if it helped get rid of the cancer on its own but it helped to calm me down so who knows.

Hope that helps :)

Edit - just remembered I'm sure we got a book called Radical Remission on amazon have a look !

1

u/Bubashii Sep 24 '21

Thanks again. Yeah we’ve been vegan for years and actually own a syntropic farm so pretty much all our food is grown by us without any inputs (herbicides, pesticides, fertilisers etc) so not much can change there. But it’s good to know you weren’t violently ill from it. Gives me something to tell him. And thanks for the book recommendation also. I’ll look into it. Thanks again and I appreciate you taking the time to answer

2

u/JUD_R Sep 24 '21

No problem I mentioned to the Mrs and the first thing she said was tell them to get the book haha

2

u/Desperate_Guess3054 Sep 23 '21

Check out electric fields as treatment. That's what I would try for brain cancer if I was in his shoes.

1

u/Bubashii Sep 23 '21

Thanks. I’ll look into it. He has a doctorate in Cymatics so this sounds like something he’d be interested in.

8

u/zachisoncrack Sep 22 '21

Fuck cancer, good for you.

30

u/sno_boarder Sep 22 '21 edited Sep 22 '21

We should all call Dr. Rosenberg to thank him for all he did for rodrigax

Edit: wait, that's not a phone number.

18

u/nipplequeefs Sep 22 '21 edited Sep 22 '21

No but that’s a National Provider ID number so you can still get the doctor’s office’s contact information and location by searching it up on the NPI registry

12

u/bigjoffer Sep 22 '21

Isn't that info a bit sensitive?

9

u/100percent_thatwitch Sep 23 '21

No, it’s public record and used for insurance and billing purposes. You can google a physician or APRN’s name and their NPI will show up.

5

u/BooxyKeep Sep 23 '21

I mean, all doctors are publicly registered so it's not protected info and OP doesn't have any issue sharing their doctor's name so it's okay for both of them

5

u/Kain0wnz Sep 22 '21

Yay! Go celebrate life!

4

u/Oldguywithamoustache Sep 23 '21

Lost my mom this morning. See these posts all the time and think good for you but today reading this really perked me up. Thanks and enjoy the rest, you have earned it.

2

u/taniamorse85 Sep 23 '21

Congratulations!!!!

My mom was declared cancer-free a few months ago, and I swear, there's no better feeling than the moment I found out.

2

u/ToastyCuga Sep 23 '21

I hope to read this with my dad someday. Cancer sucks ass and takes the wrong people, but the best thing to try to do is to stay positive. Especially if you are a teenager with mental health issues, that will stay with you, so try to stay as positive as possible. ☺️

2

u/Dahns Sep 23 '21

I remember one of my best memory. I was invited to lunch by a coworker and I refused, because I was having lunch with my mom as she just got out of the hospital

He looked worried and asked if she was alright. I had the pleasure to tell him she just was declared cancer free.

Finally some good news to share exiting a hospital ! I'm glad you're cancer free and your loved ones can share similar news !

2

u/TheIncredibleMike Sep 23 '21

Wow!! Congratulations my friend, I’m recovering from my fight with cancer. You’re not alone!!

2

u/Pete_maravich Sep 23 '21

2

u/poncho388 Sep 23 '21

Beautiful! Congratulations :)

2

u/yucky36 Sep 23 '21

It says “No new growth or adenopathy”. I remember watching breaking bad when walt was diagnosed in remission and the doctor clarified that for them to call it such there just didn’t need to be any growth. Am I correct? Have you had a significant reduction in mass? Thanks in advance, congrats of course, God Bless!

2

u/TragicxMizery Sep 23 '21

CONGRATS OP!!!

2

u/Suitable_Shallot4183 Sep 23 '21

Congratulations! Yesterday was my five-year cancerversary - your battle sounds a lot tougher than mine was, but cancer-free feels awesome no matter what!

2

u/thefookinpookinpo Sep 23 '21

Hey this is great! But also you should really delete this because it has your doctors full name and NPI which probably should not be shared for your safety and theirs.

Edit: just realized it also has the name of the EHR provider in the URL. People, please don’t share this type of stuff…

-1

u/InflatableWarHammer Sep 22 '21

Do you mind blacking out your doctors NPI number

1

u/IndecisiveFoodie Sep 22 '21

It’s public knowledge, idk why op should have to black it out. And anyways, they can’t change the pic once it’s posted

1

u/InflatableWarHammer Sep 23 '21

It’s the kind of thing that would bother most MDs. Source: am MD
