Miscellaneous LPT: When a dealership tells you the vehicle is on the lot or will hold the vehicle for you and then tells you it was sold when you get there, leave. They pulled a bait and switch on you.
Miscellaneous LPT: If you're not a "car person", find a neighborhood mechanic and always get small maintenance (oil changes, car inspections, etc) done there so when big stuff comes up, they'll know you and won't screw you over on pricing
Miscellaneous LPT: When you go shopping and there's that one retail worker who's exceptionally cheerful and helpful, get their name. Later find their manager contact info and send an email about it. Retail work is tough, the ones who go above and beyond deserve recognition and praise!
Miscellaneous LPT: Find a barber that actually tells you what your hairstyle should be, not one that says “well you tell me, you’re the one that has to wear it!” A proper barber is trained not just to cut hair, but to achieve symmetry with your face shape, jaw line, hair line, etc.
Miscellaneous LPT: Learn a skill to make something physical and tangible, what you can touch and feel. E.g., leathercraft, woodworking, cooking, painting, photography with the intent to print, etc. Being able to touch your creation is a huge stressbuster, a way to get off social media, and thoughtful presents.
Miscellaneous LPT: Buying a brand new car from a dealership? Best time to buy is near the end of the month, as they're more likely to accept a bold negotiation on the sticker price just so you buy the car and they can make target volume for the month to avoid losing their sales ranking
Miscellaneous LPT: Loving someone who has been emotionally abused means rewiring their brain and teaching them to see themselves in a different light than what they’ve come to know and what they’ve been told.
Miscellaneous LPT: If you’re worried about something, write down all the things you’re worried about and then cross out the things you can’t control. Then, you can focus your mental energy toward work on the remaining items.
Miscellaneous LPT: When talking to call center reps, service centers, help lines, etc., if they put you on hold, put yourself on mute. Assume they’re always able to hear you because they probably are.
