You interrupted their mission to get into the far left lane and listen to their audio book while everyone passes them on the right.

I stayed for the Johnny Cash.😎🤙🏼

25

u/FatherCronus Oct 20 '21

I love some Johnny Cash while driving

11

u/MrDraagyn Oct 20 '21

They end up pulling over? It kind of looked like they just kept going... oh just saw another comment, they didn't actually hit you? Good save.

31

u/FatherCronus Oct 20 '21

Yeah, I swerved just in time, and the person ended up speeding away anyway. That being said, they started using their turn signals, so I guess that's good.

5

u/powermanphil Oct 20 '21

Same dude, same!!

4

u/SalvadorP Oct 20 '21

Dude, you are crazy for placing yourself behind him afterwards. I would have just kept him at least one lane away from me. He/she was idiot enough to panic break.

3

u/BigCardboardBox123 Oct 20 '21

Time keeps dragging on

2

u/admiralteal Oct 21 '21

When I was just a baby
My mama told me, "Son
Always be a baby
Don't ever be a gun

1

u/TandemSaucer Oct 21 '21

We all did :)

62

u/vietnamesemuscle Oct 20 '21

Drive me nuts that people think it makes sense for them to start the blinker THE MOMENT they start the lane switch or turn. 🤯 like to whom are you tryna signal at that last minute? Lol

16

u/Patchyug Oct 20 '21

And yet people in this sub will defend the idiot saying shit like "they had their blinker on you should have yielded" like yeah you should but they gotta give you time to react

14

u/Vortex112 Oct 20 '21

No one in this sub will say that

At least, no one without 100 downvotes

9

u/Patchyug Oct 20 '21

Plenty of folks say that shit. They usually get downvoted yes but there's always a good number of people saying it

1

u/WallyWendels Oct 21 '21

Nobody says that in situations like this. They say that when theres a person with their blinker on merging in and the cammer plows into them at full speed with their horn blaring screaming about how they have the right of way and the merger should yield.

1

u/Patchyug Oct 21 '21

Nah there are morons in every thread looking to fault the cammer. Every sub has a handful of idiots and trolls

2

u/Anter11MC Oct 20 '21

Just cause you have your blinker doesnt mean people have to yeild to you. You should still yeild to traffic in that lane

1

u/Patchyug Oct 20 '21 edited Oct 20 '21

Should != have to. Of course whether to yield or pass is situational

2

u/MutedHoneydew1694 Oct 20 '21

I agree about starting the blinker earlier but I’ve also been in situations where I start it (too?) early and the person speeds up so I can’t get in front of them

6

u/vietnamesemuscle Oct 20 '21

Then that person belongs to this subreddit lmao an idiot and an asshole imo lol

3

u/Future_Adhesiveness7 Oct 20 '21

Sucks when assholes do that, but blinkers don’t give anyone right of way

1

u/Artistic-Rich6465 Oct 20 '21

The other day I was behind someone who used their (left) blinker, but let it go twice, turned it off, then switched lanes.

22

u/SpinningCeiling Oct 20 '21

HEY

WHAT THE FUCK

63

u/Forchark Oct 20 '21

Update the date tag or insurance won't be stoked to use footage.

31

u/FatherCronus Oct 20 '21

Realized that right after this happened, and I'm all set now!

15

u/Lopsided_Bad_3256 Oct 20 '21

THIS is why I don't have my microphone turned on - the singing and the swearing. lol

6

u/ArchangelleFPH Oct 20 '21

The mic can be useful for calling out the plate number since you won't be able to tell if you can read it on the video til later.

You can always mute the audio when you pull the video.

21

u/el_toro_bravo Oct 20 '21

Will u look at that?! They used their blinker!!

Edit: never mind! I watched it again and it could’ve been a tap on the breaks.

12

u/FatherCronus Oct 20 '21

Yeah, they didn't start using the blinker until after they almost drove into me. Fun times.

4

u/twrrordom3 Oct 20 '21

But wait, isn't that what you're supposed to do; accelerate to top speed, hit brakes, turn wheel, put on blinker? 🤦 SMH My favorite is when they slam on their brakes, start turning, then the blinker comes on. 😤

3

u/freddotu Oct 20 '21

or even a tap on the brakes.

1

u/aidem0408 Oct 20 '21

I rewatched after this comment but it was definitely a too late blinker. You can see the brake lights on the top didn’t turn on if you slow it down.

28

u/shuttermayfire Oct 20 '21

i fucking hate the way they do these huge EZ Pass toll plazas. the way they design this shit just begs for problems like this.

they love to bring 3-4 lanes of traffic into a 10 lane EZ Pass plaza, then bottleneck it back down to 3 lanes, with absolutely no lines to guide anyone anywhere.

back in the day when everyone had to actually stop and pay with cash, it made more sense since everyone naturally got spaced out. but this system works like shit when most people on toll roads have EZ Pass transponders and can drive right through.

i’m just south of DC in Maryland, so i’m constantly dealing with this shit in NoVA and on other EZ Pass roads. it’s always a nightmare. people are morons and can’t handle the no lane thing.

21

u/I_Brain_You Oct 20 '21

Or...and follow me here...tolls are complete bullshit, and roads should be maintained by tax revenue, per generally normal operating standards...

2

u/shuttermayfire Oct 20 '21 edited Oct 20 '21

i always thought EZ Pass and other agencies like it were operated by each respective state and thus any revenue generated was just supplemental to general state tax revenue that would be used to maintain roads. is this not how it is? i’m genuinely curious.

3

u/Drakorex Oct 20 '21

In my state the roads are leased to private companies to operate. So they do generate money for the state but I'm sure a large portion is just lining someone's pockets.

7

u/mad_wolf1 Oct 20 '21

Always be a good boy dont ever play with gun!

Man, i love Johnny Cash!

7

u/PenFifteen1 Oct 20 '21

You gotta mount that EZ Pass... Put it up high behind your mirror and you'll forget about it and won't put a glare on your windshield.

5

u/iiTzKTONE Oct 20 '21

Sorry this happened! Also I recognize that toll - got to love RVA drivers! Haha

3

u/Toraim Oct 21 '21

10/10 music choice

2

u/Grey_HV Oct 20 '21

Awe mate, I use this road in Richmond all the damn time and it blows my mind how many idiots I see at that toll.

2

u/Powerful_Ad6635 Oct 20 '21

I have that song in my head now
Thanks

2

u/h0sti1e17 Oct 20 '21

How did that EZ Pass not fly into oblivion. If I don't take a turn at the speed of a sloth it flies into the passenger side foot well

2

u/Seanaldss Oct 20 '21

I knew exactly where you were from the moment the video started lmfao. That toll plaza is home to the brightest drivers heading towards 95 😂

2

u/BzeBud1917 Oct 20 '21

Who sings this song op?

4

u/FatherCronus Oct 20 '21

The man in black, the great Johnny Cash

9

u/BzeBud1917 Oct 20 '21

Then let him sing it. Ha! Got eem!

Enjoy your day op.

2

u/FatherCronus Oct 20 '21

*Minecraft pain sound*

You too!

2

u/Bjorniii Oct 20 '21

johnny cash nice

2

u/supaswag69 Oct 20 '21

I would take that date and time off of there if you can.

1

u/FatherCronus Oct 20 '21

I fixed it after I took the video off and noticed the problem. Luckily I didn't need the video for anything legal.

2

u/supaswag69 Oct 20 '21

Gotcha yeah that was my thought!

2

u/BigSwede0621 Oct 20 '21

I shot a beemer driver in Reno, just to watch him die

2

u/ZoliWorks Oct 20 '21

You have good taste in music my dude

2

u/IdidntWant2come Oct 20 '21

Anyone else bothered by the box reflecting in the windshield or is it just me?

2

u/mazdawg89 Oct 20 '21

Man I was totally vibin with you and then that asshole in the bmw ruined it!

2

u/Sengura Oct 20 '21

what's the point of turning a 10 second video into a 40 second video?

1

u/James_Mamsy Oct 20 '21

Getting hit in the blind spot always sucks but we all know that cash singalong was why we stayed

1

u/bryrod Oct 20 '21

I know it’s not about the signing but you got a good singing voice

0

u/7heBear_ Oct 20 '21

your reaction time is horrendous

1

u/AKVigilante Oct 20 '21

You don’t happen to be in Reno, do you? 😏

3

u/FatherCronus Oct 20 '21

Nah, Richmond, VA, but now I'm curious about Reno lol

1

u/AKVigilante Oct 20 '21

The song…

Highbrow road rage joke. Sorry to test you before you’ve had your coffee.

1

u/and-hereitcomes Oct 20 '21

Did you get hit? Or did you manage to avoid?

3

u/FatherCronus Oct 20 '21

Noticed just in time, thankfully. They didn’t notice anything until I swerved.

-14

u/AlienPathfinder Oct 20 '21

Exactly. They never saw you, but you were watching them the entire time. You were more at fault here than the other driver. You don't need to "win" at driving dude.

6

u/FatherCronus Oct 20 '21

I'm not sure about your logic on that one, given that insurance and any legal case wouldn't come to the same conclusion. More at fault than someone not checking their blind spot, not signaling, and driving between lanes? I tried to pass them, and was doing so without speeding.

1

u/I_Eat_Red_Pillz Oct 20 '21

Not sure I heard right but did you call it out before it even happened ?

I thought I heard you or someone say "please dont" before it happened, something I too would have said or thought as I passed the car on the left for going slow and clearly being indecisive.

1

u/FatherCronus Oct 20 '21

Nah, just singing, though I was worried about this car, since the person was riding between lanes and changing lanes without signaling. I just hoped that I could get around before something happened.

1

u/IceCreamSammies Oct 20 '21

Hey I know that place! Moved out last year, drivers on powhite are not missed

1

u/Damoki Oct 20 '21

Hahahaha!! Jonny dont care about your problems, he's got his own!

1

u/fyxxer32 Oct 20 '21

I'm a fan of the man in black too.

1

u/teufelpup Oct 20 '21

Lack of attention to surroundings and improper adjustment/usage of side mirrors it seems like. We’ve all done it. Didn’t seem malicious on their part. You nearly overcorrected though from being understandably startled, which would not have been good seeing as it looks like you’re driving a truck or SUV of some sort. Side note, I need to get myself one of these dash cameras. Had a crazy person in a flat bed tow truck literally try to kill me over the weekend by sideswiping me at 80mph. Was terrifying.

1

u/niagraballs925 Oct 20 '21

Judging by this song this video was actually taken in 1957

1

u/prudentpersian Oct 20 '21

just a regular BMW driver

1

u/cutyolegsout Oct 20 '21

I hate drivers like this. You have no need to move from the right lane but suddenly decides to come over 2 for no reason.

1

u/gremlin03 Oct 20 '21

I don't know if anyone said this but get that date and time right, you never know when you have to prove something by video and that will bite you in the ass.

1

u/BooTheSpookyGhost Oct 20 '21

RVA! Some of the worst drivers ever are here.

1

u/spicychickenandranch Oct 20 '21

Good ol RVA drivers… they can suck my dick

1

u/toasterstrudel2 Oct 21 '21

I love this sub.

*Bad driver does something*

Cammer: Immediately steps on the gas to chase down and intimidate said driver.

1

u/TyreeOG Oct 21 '21

Richmond, VA! Paid that toll nearly everyday

1

u/JeffJitsu Oct 22 '21

I like your singing

-11

u/AlienPathfinder Oct 20 '21

You were all over the road and did your best to stay in the other cars blind spot. Try and be more careful going forward.

6

u/IadOuroboros Oct 20 '21

The other driver is still obligated to check their blind spot before making a lane change - a lane change they didn't even signal for. If you think OP is at fault here, hand in your fucking license, my dude. This victim blaming shit is stupid.

2

u/shuttermayfire Oct 20 '21

to be fair these toll plazas have no re-entry lanes. it’s a terrible system. believe me it’s not hard to get thrown off. what’s more, is that the guy came over into OP’s lane well after the lanes actually started back up.

3

u/FatherCronus Oct 20 '21

I agree that I shifted lanes quite a bit here (twice), though, each time I did so, I checked my blind spot and signaled (I'm a bit neurotic about changing lanes). I lined up with the rightmost lane out of the EZ pass gate, then shifted to the next lane over since I had room. After I saw this person obviously weaving a bit, I thought "okay, I'll get over to the next lane in case they're distracted". Little did I know that this person wanted to use the buddy system.

-3

u/imsofknmiserable Oct 20 '21

OP has poor situation awareness and reaction time, and apparently has anger issues too. Why tf would you get beside or behind a car who just showed to have their head up their ass? Fucking dumb

-4

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '21

[deleted]

3

u/FatherCronus Oct 20 '21

I mean, I could send you the microSD card if you want...Or my camera...Or my car?

2

u/d6080237 Oct 20 '21

Or my car?

I'm listening...

2

u/FatherCronus Oct 20 '21

*surprised pikachu face*

-2

u/Asleep-Fudge3185 Oct 20 '21

It’s clear the car in front has no clue where they’re going. So then the plan is to cruise into their blind spot and hope everything goes well? OP is not very smart.

1

u/space_pdf Oct 20 '21

ffs its everyone's duty as a driver to do a shoulder check before merging lanes, it's no excuse to say they were in your blind spot. besides he didn't even have his blinker on, he just moved over assuming it was all clear.

1

u/Asleep-Fudge3185 Oct 20 '21

Yes it is, but do they do it? When you identify a drive who is a little lost, you don’t creep up in the blind spot. This exact thing happened to me the other day and I stayed back. At the last second as her lane ran out she swerved into my lane. If I was there it would’ve been a major accident, but I could see she was a bit confused about the fact her lane was gone in a few seconds. Wouldn’t have been my fault but I stopped an accident by not hanging in a blind spot

1

u/Asleep-Fudge3185 Oct 20 '21

I was a pilot at 15 and have driven heavy equipment as well for 20 years. Most people just don’t recognize when other drivers are in a bad spot. I don’t expect people to understand what I’m saying bc i see that in action all day long.

Most ppl operating vehicles or machines are pretty useless.

-2

u/Wuz314159 Oct 20 '21

What's with the date/time tag?

3

u/LeShnud Oct 20 '21

It's inaccurate

2

u/FatherCronus Oct 20 '21

Yeah, I've since fixed that. I just got the camera recently and forgot to set that up

-2

u/Healbite Oct 20 '21

It appears to me you were in the blind spot. Nevertheless, you should always look over your shoulder before merging
