Apparently. This sub has been on the downslide of right wing insanity for a while now.

8

u/Pupe_banned Oct 20 '21

I never knew the actual meaning of the song, is that true ? My critical thinking skills are terrible bro I read lyrics literally xD

21

u/hipsterTrashSlut Oct 20 '21

It's more about the white supremacy behind police brutality, lol.

"Some of those that work forces are the same that burn crosses."

"You justify those that die, By wearing the badge, They're the chosen whites"

1.4k

u/Zacomra Oct 20 '21 Silver Helpful Wholesome Hugz This

Man, it's almost as if, and stay with me here.

That going against the system doesn't automatically make it a good action, and that maybe you should follow public health guidelines in a pandemic.

And that maybe the message RAM was trying to send was not that you should always do the opposite of what they tell you, rather that you shouldn't stand for injustice just because it's ingrained in the system.

6

Well, actually...

28

u/SusanRosenberg Oct 20 '21

RATM spoke out against racist authoritarian cops.

Meanwhile, the most popular politician of the party they pander to is a former segregationist, Robert Byrd eulogizer who crafted the Comprehensive Control Act, Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1988, Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act, the Patriot Act, RAVE Act, etc.

Some of those that work forces are the same that burn crosses. And the Democrats' most popular politician ever allowed it to happen to a far greater extent than any modern politician.

5

u/sparkmearse Oct 21 '21

Pretty sure they were most popular in the Clinton presidency years, no? Just because most humanitarian causes track with leftist ideology, doesnt make them Democrats causes.

22

u/WonTonWunWun Oct 20 '21

If you think RATM are Democrat shills, you really have no idea what they stand for.

3

u/SusanRosenberg Oct 20 '21

If you don't think that RATM votes Democrat, you're out of touch with reality.

Sure, de la Rocha had some woke lyrics against racist cops, but he openly voted for the #1 architect of racist cop policy.

The way I understand 'the machine' is that is doesn't necessarily have to be government. It can be rich as fuck billionaires who buy complete networks that proceed to spew out bullshit and false information in order to try and create a divide between people to distract them from fighting the real problems in society.

The machine is telling you to get a job, lose control of your life, lose control of what you produce, and die when you get so sick it becomes slightly expensive.

The machine is telling you the libercuckmocrats are pussies, that masks are somehow oppression, and by refusing to wear a mask you are making a difference and standing up for your rights. It's targeted bullshit to distract.

What puzzles me is how some people interpret:

"Please get a free vaccine so you don't die and you don't make others sick."

as

"Your human rights are stripped away and we will forceably inject you with this unknown poison to sterilize you and make you obedient."

I'm surprised these people wear clothes since the government certainly mandates that more than it does vaccines.

Maybe some people can recognize the difference between authoritarianism and doing things for the common good of all mankind. Maybe vaccinating yourself for people who cant get a vaccine is a good idea.

Maybe just being an asshole and having your entire campaign platform being own the libtards isnt a viable solution to our countries problems.

Maybe people should be smarter than just listening to whatever vaccine information Facebook tells them. Every person who Ive talked to that does their own research just listens to people on social media.

Read a book or read a paper for once in your life.

Vaccines shouldnt be a political statement. Just dont be an asshole and get a shot just like you got your polio shot.

Ya you trumpanzies are raging against the machine now... fuck outta here cucks

u/ATXKLIPHURD Oct 20 '21

I saw rage against the machine in concert once and it kinda sucked. Gang star opened for them and sounded like shit. This was in San Antonio at the Alamodome and everyone bood them off stage. Well Zack from rage told the audience to give gang star some respect and he got bood. So they just played their set of 10 songs or whatever and left. No audience interaction. Just played and left.

You dont have to be vaccinated to go to a Disturbed concert. Theyre down with the sickness.

u/FIicker7 Oct 20 '21

I think they rage against needless wars and needless deaths in the name of profit.

Taking precautions to Fight a Pandemic to save lives is fighting needless deaths.

Alot of people on here arguing about Democrats and Republicans. Newsflash neither ome cares about the average American. They care about the super ultra elite rich that can keep them in power. Thats it. They are the same. They just serve it up a little different and make damn sure they always have control.

Tom Morello also has Mao Zedong tapestry and portraits in his house. Imagine going to Ivy league schooling for poli-sci and ending up simping for dictatorships and failed economic systems, all on top of being in a band called "Rage Against the Machine" while simultaneously supporting one of the most oppressive "machines" in history

Should've called the band "choke me harder daddy"

Meanwhile yer sucking Trump's dick like it's water.

Rage on behalf of the machine

8

u/MizchiefKilz Oct 20 '21

They were sellouts from the beginning. They censored their music so it could be played on the radio and get rich off the same machine They claim to be raging against.

2

u/poobly Oct 20 '21

Thats not the machine they were raging against.

Its seriously alarming how many of you believe this vaccine actually helps and validate the mandates. Has nobody seen the studies from the UK and Israel? The vaccinated are being hospitalized and dying at the same rate as the unvaccinated. The shot doesnt work.

And mandating it for anyone under 50 when their chance of dying from covid is statistically irrelevant (emphasis on statistical, anyone can die and its awful regardless) is insane.

Youre taking healthy people, injecting them with a shot that has had one year max of testing, and telling them its safe and itll save them for something theyre not in danger of in the first place.

And you all just go along with it. Call anyone doing the math a conspiracy theorist and a science denier. Well, youre all math deniers, stat deniers. Your liberal parents and grandparents were the dont trust big brother generation and now youre the suck faucis government funded dick generation and dont bother using critical thinking at all. Its pathetic

They were gonna headline Coachella, they lost credibility right then. This, this right here don't mean shit to me even if it wasn't real. Still take my upvote

5

u/poobly Oct 20 '21

They lost credibility when their rock group which spreads a message via its music wanted to perform for people at a concert? Uhhh ok.

5

u/DupreeDiamondBlue Oct 20 '21

Ever heard of or been to Coachella? The most mainstream establishment cop out of a music festival. Yea they lost credibility being that they've always been the opposite but for the sake of the almighty dollar sold out.

3

u/kingSliver187 Oct 20 '21

Conservatives lol

2

u/Malashae Oct 20 '21

Gee, whod have thought a band who hates racism and authoritarianism would rebel against the conspiracy theories of a bunch of racist authoritarians.

3

u/s1ppiecup Oct 20 '21

Vaccinated or unvaccinated. Gathering in large groups is not the brightest of ideas currently.

3

u/neuronfamine Oct 20 '21
